The IP advisory practice group advises on substantive legal matters relating to intellectual property based on applicable law, drafts/reviews license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, franchise agreements, shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, distributor agreements and other corporate/commercial agreements for protection of IP rights. The firm also advises and represents clients in IP disputes.
The lawyers in the IP practice also carry out searches, registrations, renewals etc., at the NIPO for local and foreign clients and frequently receive instructions from legal firms and IP agents overseas, to carry out work at the NIPO on behalf of foreign clients, for filing of applications at the NIPO and/or for renewal of marks in Sri Lanka.
